Greetings and happy holidays! Six months ago, Normalize the Period was birthed into the world.  This little business with a big mission has grown and changed so much since then, just like a healthy six-month old I suppose. In the spirit of a holiday letter, let me update you on all the goings-on with our little family - Normalize the Period.

We launched!
What a year it has been!  I can hardly believe that at this time last year, Normalize the Period wasn't even on my radar.  In January 2021, the idea for Normalize came to me loud and clear.  And by the end of February, I had filed all the necessary paperwork for an LLC.  Between March and May, me and an amazing small team of passionate women somehow managed to accomplish branding, web design, e-commerce set up, two photo shoots, and establish a social media presence.  We celebrated with a launch party!

Give Back Program!
At the same time, Normalize partnered with a charity down in Ecuador called Hearts of Gold to create a re-education project for young girls. The nature of this project is to re-message the period with curiosity and anticipation and to remove the shock, shame, and embarrassment often felt by young women when it comes to menstruation. The aim of this is to cultivate an interest in learning and celebrating monthly cycles, so that every young woman can have a deep and holistic understanding of what to expect. Thanks to all of you, by June we had raised enough funds ($1,500 USD!) to begin creating the project curriculum.

As of today, the project curriculum has been finalized and is in the final stages of foundation approval. The first pilot of this project will run early 2022. Let me tell you what an honor, joy and privilege it is to work with the staff at Hearts of Gold on this project. They are as passionate as I am in changing the way our future generation experiences menstruation. I get quite emotional when I slow down enough to realize my dream, my mission, is coming to fruition with the help of so many!  For more about the program, Periods Are The Heart (PATH) to Womanhood, please visit our Global Giving site.  If you are looking for a wonderful cause to gift to this holiday season, PATH to Womanhood is certainly a worthwhile one.  And don't forget, $1 of every Normalize the Period product you purchase goes towards PATH to Womanhood as well.

Now offering services!
When the idea for Normalize came to me in January, it was a product focused concept - a clothing brand created with the period in mind.  Comfortable clothes to wear while on your period, as well as a unique way to honor and acknowledge your period while making a statement to normalize the period, all at the same time, without saying a word.  This is still a great concept and it is not going away!  I would be a terrible business owner if I didn't also mention they would make wonderfully unique holiday gifts this year!  It's just that I have learned a lot since launching, mainly that there needs to be an emotional connection between my mission and my products.  Enter services.  I have begun creating a variety of services, most of which will be available in 2022, stay tuned.  However I am excited to announce my very first service is available right now!

Game Launch!
You are among the first to hear of our newest product...we have created a game!  Say what!?

It's kind of a long story about how I stumbled upon to two incredibly creative women who invent and design games for a living. But don't worry, I'll be sharing all about it very soon. The important thing to know is that Normalize has created a custom game - a fun and interactive way to continue spreading my mission of re-messaging what it means to become a woman, including the period, to one of curiosity and anticipation.
